Deeply powerful with lingering hints of fruit and spice, this bar, made from pure 88% cocoa dark chocolate, manages to stay silky smooth while packing undeniably rich cocoa flavor. For the true dark chocolate lover.
Bittersweet Chocolate (Chocolate Liquor, Cane Sugar, Soy Lecithin, Vanilla).
Contains soy. Produced on equipment that also processes product containing milk, peanuts and tree nuts.
This is perhaps the best chocolate I've ever eaten and certainly the most wonderful dark chocolate. A subtle hint of sweetness but primarily a deep, smooth, pure chocolate. And as the title says, beautifully velvety. Eco footprint and quality ingredients are a requirement for me. The fact that I can have those AND still have the most superb product (ie not sacrifice quality as a result) is pretty much food nirvana. Thank you to the team at Endangered Species!
I'm a dark chocolate red wine combo fan, and it's rare that the chocolate bar I pick up is so perfect, and even more surprising that this bar was sub $4. Seriously,I don't know if there is another chocolate out there with 88% cocoa that tastes this smooth.
This is my absolute favorite chocolate bar. I always keep a stack of them at the house and have some squares daily. This chocolate has the perfect smoothness at high cocoa levels with a rich chocolaty taste. It's not very fruity, which is how I prefer my chocolate...I like a more rich and deep taste. That being said, I am very concerned with the new manufacturing of this bar. The bar is now thinner and has less snap to it, all things that I enjoyed in the old bar. The taste is still great however, only I can't forget the perfection that the bar used to be. FYI the new bars have a foil cover, so that's how you know you have the new style. Hopefully I grow to like the new bar as much as the old.
I like really dark chocolates, but some can almost have no flavor as it is covered up by harshness. This is a lovely chocolate where you can taste the fruit. It has a luxurious mouth feel and each bite gets better. I would put this in my top 3. I highly recommend the 88% bar.
